Lampwork glass beads bring joy to the wearer and pride to the collector. Beads are everywhere and used in many different ways.  Each lampwork bead is unique and adds a special touch to your jewelry designs…your jewelry designs become one of a kind! The book will show you how to store, clean and take care of your lampwork beads. It will take you through the 4 seasons and some holidays using lampwork with gemstones, silver, gold, seed beads and various stringing materials. I will also discuss how to use color and personal style, as well as, finding inspiration in your surroundings and fashions and how trends affect your jewelry designs. Each jewelry project details full tutorials, step photos and supply lists with resources to purchase those materials. Learn how to seed bead a spiral rope for the spring Frog Egg necklace or make a classic design with the sparkling Coco Elegance Necklace or how about a cute Sweet Treats Charm Bracelet. Browse through the pages and I am sure there is something that will catch your eye!

The beads are from beginner to advanced, as well as the jewelry projects. I really like the fact that is shows you the exact bead project. Some books show you a technique, but you don't have the same look as the sample bead since they aren't the same. These projects are a basic description but the tutorials are very informative in the step by step process.. there are over 200 color photos and illustrations.

I have 4 or 5 beads with latticino, frit and metallics.

The Leonardo Featherbone and Fishbone Tools ...New as of 5/28/09

Karen has yet invented another tool line inspired by Lesley Mcfarland. Lesley wanted a tool that could make the lines in a feather and this is what I came up with... along with Steve, my tool engineer. They are called the Leonardo Featherbone and Leonardo Fishbone Tools (patent pending). The 2 styles have 3 sizes; fine, medium and large. The tool has tested well, however, you must be cautious, there is a possiblity of getting hot glass stuck in between the prongs. There is s fine line between pinching/pressing beautiful lines and getting the glass stuck or not making a good enough imprint. With anything it takes a bit of practice. When using the tool coat the tool with beeswax. I will send you a FREE .05 oz piece with every order of up to 2. If you order 3 or more I will send a 1 oz. piece....FREE!

If you get the hot glass caught in the prongs DO NOT PULL the hot glass  it will bend the prongs. Quench in cold water and pick the cold glass out with a pointed stylus or a razor knife. I hope you enjoy the tool and I can't wait to see what you do with it...I have had fun and figured out the learning curve so my glass will not get stuck. I suggest that if you want only one tool ...try the medium or large first...I would hate having to discontinue the fine size because they are being returned. Best wishes and thanks for your support! The Leonardo Petal Tools

Karen has invented a tool she has been using for about 3 years  to make her lovely flowers and leaves that so many of you have seen and purchased. It is called the LEONARDO PETAL PULLER (patent pending).

    PetalPullersPetals

She has decided to produce  the tool for sale to the lampworking community.  The petal puller easily pulls perfect petals and leaves quickly from your hot glass rods to be used in making sculpted flowers and leaves. It comes in 2 sizes currently. The large and the small. The large puller allows you to pull petals approximately 4mm by 16mm by 26mm. The small puller allows you to pull petals approximately 4mm by 12mm by 19mm. You can add these petals to a flat tab bead to make your flower or add them to a round bead to make a dangling leaf bead. The possibilties are endless, just use your creativity and imagination!

My tool engineer, Steve Yuhas,  assembles them. He has a fulltime career and 4 children, one being a baby and another a toddler. We will do our best to keep up with demand as they are selling quickly so get yours now. To purchase the petal tools go to the top of the page to "areas of other interest" and click the link....thank you.

    The DVD

The DVD  shows you how to make one of my 6 petal flowers with the petal puller from start to finish, including the inner striated petal cane and use of the "ruffler" tool.  To follow the DVD you need to purchase the small petal puller and the ruffler. You will also need a coffee or candle warmer to keep your petals warm. You can purchase those at your local craft store or "Walmart". If you have any questions please email me. Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy using the pullers as much as I do. To purchase the DVD go to the top of the page to "areas of other interest" and click the link....thank you.

     The Leonardo Brass Imprinters

The BRASS imprinters are MY NEW and exciting product line for glass that makes a design impression on your bead. All you have to do is heat the spot where you want the design and press. It is that simple. The imprinters are different than a press since the design is on one side and you are able to add the impression to any type of bead...you have no limits with these. The imprinters are on the small side. I wanted those that make small beads be able to use the tools as well. They are very versatile and an imprint cam be placed anywhere on your bead, scroll down to see my beads....pretty cool, huh!
