November 13, 2010 Rockiville, MD Sculpted Wildflowers Class

Oct 16-18, 2009 Columbia , MO Sculpted Flowers and Want to Know
The fisrt day we will focus on soft glass flowers of all kinds. Bring your flower and garen books and see if you can make a glass flower just like the real thing. The second day will be filled with boro flowers. We will learn petal cane, using frits, pulling leaves and petals using the Leonardo petal, fishbone and featherbone tools, among other glass sculpting tools. The 3rd day Is "I want to learn how to make __________!" We are looking at working with foils and leaf, reduction frits and powders, enamesl, various cane and whatever the students want to learn...there are a couple spaces left so please email me for more info. beads@ptd.net
June 15 - 19, 2009 Pittsburgh Glass Center A wild Flower Glass and Jewelry Workshop
We will explore the wonderful world of flowers and botanicals using various lampwork tools including the Leonardo Petal pullers, Leonardo petal Pressers, "ruffler", tweezers, picks, other lampwork supplie, etc. Petal, tools and rufflers will be availble in class. Learn how to make various styles of sculpted lampwork flowers and leaves using both hard and soft glass. I will show you how to make my 6 petal flowers and such glass flowers as wild violet, poppy, columbine, and trillium among other flowers. You will make handmade petal cane and any components needed to complete the flowers. The first 2 days we will work on soft glass, the next 2 days boro glass and the last day we will learn how to design jewelry with our flower beads. Students need to have some torch experience, but experiece with both types of glass are not necessary.

April 19 & 20th, 2008 with a free evening demo April 18th WIld Flowers Sculpted Bead Class
We will learn various techniques of making wild flowers and leaves using my Leonardo Petal Puller tools (pat. pend.), as well as other tools, to sculpt our beads. Bring a picture or book of your favorite wild flowers and see them come to life. Please notify the school for more information concerning signing up for the class. Here is a small sample of some simple wild flowers: Violets, Daisies, Shooting Stars, Hareball, Mexican Hats, Bearberry and Wild Columbine, to name a few.

No extra fee unless some want to purchase some tools/glass/frits
Bring: soft and hard glass, powders and frits, appropriate eyewear, your favorite flower pictures, any special tools you like to sculpt with, leaf presses and a coffee or candle warmer.
